Skin tags are benign lesions that primarily occur on the body folds such as the neck, armpits, under the breasts, inguinal areas and face. They are believed to be a result of skin rubbing against skin. The surface of the lesions may be smooth or rough. It is important to see a dermatologist if you have any doubts of the nature of a new lesion. Treatment options include clinical follow-up, electrocautery of shaving off the lesions.
